Got up around 08:45 to walk through town a bit. Did some shopping, 3 of
us (Hong Kong 5 again) wanted to act
'the rockstar' so they shopped around a bit in music shops until they
found one where they can play a guitar. Good thing the shop connected
the guitar to a bad amplifier (even I could hear it was a bit amplifier)
so we left pretty quickly. We did some more tourist stuff by goin down the Avoe river (or something, very small river, runs right through Christchurch). Boat was pretty relaxing until somebody on the shore asked us how we were doing. We answered: pretty good. At that moment somebody thought he recognized him and asked if he was the lead singer of the the Red Hot Chili Peppers and if he had a concert that night. He was. He probably thought that since we were in a boat we wouldn't go after him. Sadly for him the boat ended about 1 minute later and we did went after him. Talked a bit with him, sadly he wanted no pictures taken (ok, there were quite a lot more other fans around in the park that might get suspicious) so we left again. As everybody was a bit hyper we went into a nice Irish pub Slowly we returned to the hotel for the last diner. As there was plenty of time before dinner I already packed my stuff for the trip the next day: everything expensive (camera, souvenirs) in my hand luggage, the rest in the large lugage. As this was the last time we were all together we had dinner with the whole group. After ordering, there was the speeches. First our chief with a decent speech, followed by another speech that makes a bit of fun at our hostess of the trip. She just shouldn't have told us that she also did tours in the Amsterdam red light district. After part of dinner was served, the whole place was evacuated. Apparently there was a suspicious package found near the police station. The police station was pretty far way, the problem was a big gas line that was in the ground. It ran from under the police station to right where we were: the strip. This meant that a lot of restaurants were evacuated. We tried finding a new restaurant for 20 people but had no luck. So we slowly broke up in to smaller groups and the Hong Kong 5 managed to find ourselves a nice little restaurant which had pretty good food.
