Day 23: Arrival

Arrived at 06:30 Dutch time. Had to wait quite a bit for the luggage. Schiphol is pretty slow with getting the luggage out it seems, they can learn something from Auckland. All luggage did arrive though eventually (not bad, considered we dropped it off in Christchurch already and never saw it again until Schiphol).

As it was to early, no family to pick me up (ok, getting in the car for over an hour and arrive at Schiphol around 07:00 is not something I would do very quickly either) so I took the train. Jippie, the Dutch railroad never fails to disappoint. There were no signs at the airport, but the connection between Dordrecht and Tilburg that I had to use was closed. Great, I had to take a detour of over an hour, was already dead tired from the flight, had to carry my luggage all the way (I had to switch trains about 3 times extra now). I was so NOT up to this. Luckily it was a bit later and I could persuade my father to come pick me up.

Lasted till about 19:00 at which I was falling in sleep on my dinner plate. Good thing we didn't go to a restaurant for dinner.
